Going Back To New Orleans

After my return from Atlanta doing Killer Mike’s podcast, I headed back to New Orleans for Super Sunday. Super Sunday is one of the most vibrant parts of New Orleans culture. Held on the third Sunday of March, it’s when Black Masking Indian tribes come together to show out in the streets, wearing incredible hand-sewn suits they’ve spent months creating. The energy is unmatched—chanting, drumming, dancing—it’s not just a parade, it’s a living expression of history, pride, and community. For me, it’s one of the most powerful cultural moments in the city, and the biggest gathering of Mardi Gras Indians outside of Mardi Gras Day itself.
