SITTING DOWN WITH WILLIE D
When my remix to Spend Dat went viral on IG, one of the calls I didn’t expect was from Willie D. Yes, Willie D of the Geto Boys, one of the groups that built the blueprint for Southern Gangsta Rap. Now he’s running a podcast with millions of viewers, and he invited me to pull up and talk about the song. We got into all of it everything: what I was really saying in that freestyle, why I record from a van, what it takes to stay independent this long, and what it’s like doing all of this as a woman traveling solo. Sitting across from a legend and getting to tell my story my way? Now, that’s gangsta.
Special Thanks To: Willie D for having me!
SPEND DAT
WE FLEX TO DEFLECT
The verse that gave people a look at my perspective of flexing culture and how it may not be as black and white as it appears to be.
